Lougheed off the hook, for now

The Crown Attorney is putting two bribery charges against Gerry Lougheed Junior on hold. Lougheed was charged last year by the OPP after an allegation that he bribed a Liberal not to seek the nomination in a Sudbury by-election.

The Crown didn’t say why the charges are on hold. However it has one year to reactivate them. As a result, future court appearances by Lougheed are cancelled. Lougheed says he did nothing wrong.
