First degree murder charge laid in island death

Police on Manitoulin have charged a man with first degree murder following the death of an elder two months ago.  Seventy-year-old John Panamick was found injured in his home in M’Chigeeng by a neighbour the night of May 11th.  Panamick was transported to hospital where he died a month later on June 13th.  On Thursday UCCM police and the OPP arrested a 26-year-old Central Manitoulin Township man and charged him with Panamick’s death.
