Forest fire situation stable

The overall forest fire situation in Northeastern Ontario remains stable.  There are six active fires and four of them are in the Cochrane District which for now the Ministry of Natural Resources is observing.  Only one new fire erupted over the weekend and that was in the Chapleau District.  It’s under one hectare in size and under control.  Overall, the fire hazard is low across the northeast thanks to rain except for the Elliot Lake region which has a moderate rating.
