Contract talks begin for hospital workers

Collective bargaining is underway for 2,500 hospital workers across Northern Ontario.  The hospitals cover the area from Elliot Lake to Atikokan.  Unifor president Jerry Dias says the workers, which include personal support workers and RPN’s, haven’t had a wage increase in two years.  He says it’s time they had an agreement that treats them with the respect they deserve.  Dias says the employees need a pay raise to stay in line with their peers.  The current contract expires October 10th.
