OPP: Watch for outdoor grow ops in bush

East Algoma OPP have a warning for people who head into the bush this time of year – watch out for outdoor grow ops.  Police say some criminals use remote areas to grow their marijuana plants and booby trap the sites to protect their illegal operation.  Traps include strings of fish hooks, bear foot-hold traps and even spike boards.  Indicators that you’re near a grow up are lots of No Trespassing signs,  cleared out areas, planting trays and fertilizer bags.  Marijuana plants have seven jagged fingers, are bright green and grow three to five feet in height.  If you spot a grow op, call police.
