A Manitoulin Island man has been arrested following a fraud investigation involving thousands of dollars.
Manitoulin OPP Constable Berkley Parisien says that back in February, they received a call from a business in the Township of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands reporting that they had not received the shipping containers they had paid for.
She says the business had paid $61,000 for the containers.
Parisien says as a result of the investigation, they arrested a 49-year-old man from the M’Chigeeng First Nation and charged him with fraud over $5,000.
She adds the accused is to appear in Gore Bay Court on August 25th.
