Greater Sudbury Police is investigating suspicious fires after a deceased person was found in a tent.
According to the release, around 3:40 a.m. yesterday morning, officers were dispatched to Energy Court and found two tents on fire.
After putting them out, emergency responders found a deceased individual inside one of the tents.
No other injuries were reported.
The deceased individual’s identity is currently unknown.
A postmortem will be conducted through the Coroner’s Office to assist in determining the individual’s identity and the cause of death.
The fires are being treated as suspicious as the circumstances leading to the incident have not yet been confirmed.
The investigation is ongoing.
