The Board of Directors of Nogdawindamin Family and Community Services has appointed Karen Kennedy as the new Chief Executive Officer.
Board president Wendy Pakalski, says Kennedy, an Anishnaabe from Garden River First Nation, brings over 27 years of dedicated service and leadership within the organization.
She says Kennedy’s extensive experience, cultural roots, and commitment to supporting First Nation families and communities makes her exceptionally well-suited to lead the organization into its next chapter.
She adds Kennedy has held numerous leadership roles within the organization, most recently as the Senior Director of Services, playing a pivotal role in shaping programs and services that reflect the unique needs and strengths of the First Nations they serve.
Pakalski says the organization is a culturally grounded, community-driven child welfare agency serving the needs of First Nation children and families across the North Shore of Lake Huron.
Kennedy’s appointment became effective October first.
