A construction business and the family behind it have made a multi-million-dollar donation to Health Sciences North.
According to the release, the foundation has received a $5 million gift from OCP Construction Supplies Inc. and the Cousineau family, supporting the expansion of pediatric care in Northeastern Ontario.
In recognition of the donation, the hospital’s Pediatric Program will be renamed Cousineau Family Pediatrics.
Inspired by their own family’s experience with pediatric care, officials say the Cousineau family’s gift will create new, child-friendly clinical spaces, expand inpatient units, and ensure that families across the North can access specialized care close to home.
More than 40,000 pediatric visits take place at HSN each year — and demand continues to grow.
