Espanola’s treasurer is predicting a surplus in the 2025 municipal budget.
Treasurer Julie Bouthillette presented her quarterly budget numbers to council on Tuesday, forecasting a positive result in the black for the 2025 budget.
She says an analysis is carried out on a quarterly basis to enable council to move ahead with financial matters, adding the numbers are unaudited and could change, but entering the final quarter, the financial situation in town is looking good.
She adds overall, staff have forecasted that there will be an operating overage or surplus of approximately $278,000 when compared to budget projections.
