Manitoulin Agriculture Day featured tours and tests

Manitoulin Agriculture Day was held on Sunday with tours and tests in Tekhummah on Manitoulin Island.

Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Bill Rosenberg says the day was hosted by Lyle Renecker and his son, Johannes, at Palace Hillside Farms where they shared their knowledge of crop management, offered field tours and showcased test plots and research trials on their property.

Rosenberg adds local farmers were able to meet with the experts and speakers to discuss the future of crop production, which will be shared with the wider agricultural community across Ontario.

He was accompanied by John Kelly, the Deputy Minister for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, OFA director Bill Groenheide, Bill Orford, the president of

Manitoulin North Shore Federation of Agriculture, and members of the local 4H club.
