It was a busy weekend for forest fires in the northeast with eight fires erupting in the Sudbury, Chapleau and Cochrane Districts. The fires are either under control, being held or out. All the fires are very small with the largest at about a hectare in size. The cooler weather coupled with the weekend rain is keeping the fire hazard low to moderate in most of Northeastern Ontario.
