Alexandra Wilson-Zegil awarded TD Scholarship for Community Leadership

A Manitoulin Island student will have her post-secondary education paid for.
Rainbow District School Board Student Trustee, Alexandra Wilson-Zegil, is a 2025 recipient of the TD Scholarship for Community Leadership.
Board Chair David Farrow says the Manitoulin Secondary School student attended the scholarship awards ceremony in Ottawa in late May where she received the award, which includes funding up to $70,000, for tuition, living expenses, paid summer employment and mentorship.
Farrow adds that Alexandra will attend McMaster University in the fall.
Enrolled in Wilson College’s new Leadership & Civic Studies program, he says she will complete a double major in Political Science.
Alexandra says she will not stop there, with plans to go to law school after her undergraduate degree and pursue a career in government and advocacy.
A resident of Gore Bay, Alexandra has been actively involved in volunteer organizations and student politics over the last four years, which led to her winning the prestigious award.
