This is why police departments tell the public, don’t leave valuables in your truck or car and keep your vehicle locked. On Manitoulin, OPP say people made it easy for thieves to rob them by not locking their vehicles. In one case in Little Current a thief stole a wallet with credit and bank cards plus personal identification. There was a similar theft in Mills Township where a wallet containing personal ID and credit cards were stolen. In this second case, the thief also made off with a cell phone. The message from police is pretty simple – lock it or lose it.
