Espanola council proclaims Pride Month

Espanola council has proclaimed June as Pride Month and will host the flag raising to kick off activities for Pride Week.
Co-coordinator Aya Dufour says the flag raising will be held at the municipal hall on Monday, June 9th at  4 pm.
She says rather than one day of events, this year there is a different one being held at different venues throughout the week including an outdoor movie night, trivia dinner, free swim, glow bowl, story hour and crafts, and Queer Prom for teens.
Dufour adds volunteers are also welcomed.
Here is the detailed scheduled.
Following the flag raising, Tuesday includes the $25 Trivia Dinner to be be held at Sukhdev Restaurant from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Wednesday’s focus will be a $5 Glow Bowl at Venture Lanes from 6 pm to 9 pm.
The Espanola Public Library will be the venue for Thursday’s Story Hour and Crafts from 3 pm to 5 pm.
On Friday, the Queer Prom will be held at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex from 8 pm to 11 pm.
The week will be capped off with a free swim at the complex at 3 pm.
