Rainbow Board School Board celebrates staff with annual awards

EHS TEACHER DAVID GALLANT WINS TOP HONOURS
Rainbow District School Board honoured its dedicated employees and community partners across the Manitoulin and Sudbury Districts by presenting its annual awards last week.
In our local area, the William N. Roman Teacher of the Year Award was presented to David Gallant for his 30+ years as a teacher, coach, and volunteer at Espanola High School.
Espanola High School’s Karen Patterson also received an Award of Excellence as an outstanding Educational Assistant in the Intensive Support and Special Education programs.
Manitoulin Island’s Charles C. McLean Public School is this year’s recipient of the Go Green Globe Award, achieving the highest honour in EcoSchools Canada – Platinum level.
The school’s custodian, Richard Panton, was also presented with an Award of Excellence for his work over the years in maintaining the school and its grounds.
