Espanola Soccer receives funding from the Lions’ Catch the Ace Program

The Catch the Ace program overseen by the Espanola Lions Club and its partners has provided funding to Espanola Minor Soccer.
Lions’ spokesperson Grant Lewis says the association has received $2,000 to go towards the purchase of 30 new soccer balls, new corner flags and cone markers, clipboards and whistles for officials and First Aid kits.
He says there are 18 teams, that’s 225 kids plus officials taking part this year.
Their first day of play is tomorrow with the windup on July 17th.
He adds local businesses also help out by sponsoring teams, as well as receiving support from the Dairy Farmers’ Co-op and O. J. Graphix.
