Mad for wheels – new park opening soon in Elliot Lake

The grand opening of a new park welcoming anything ‘wheels’ will be held in Elliot Lake at the end of the month.
The city will host the grand opening of the William Lozier All Wheels Park on May 31st.
Officials say the park features an asphalt pump track for bicycles, skateboards, scooters, and wheelchairs and is named after William Lozier, a 22-year-old who passed away in 2016.
Located at Kiwanis Park on 25 Dieppe Avenue, the city is also hosting a contest inviting youth eight to 18 years of age to share their favourite summer experiences through a short story or a drawing for a chance to win a cool bike, a Casino XL BMX.
To enter, participants can either write a short story (up to one page) or create a drawing that reflects their love for the summer season.
Contest entry forms are available for download at ElliotLake.ca/BikeContest or can be picked up in person at Collins Hall.
Completed entries should be submitted via email to [email protected] or dropped off at Collins Hall by the deadline of May 28.
The rules are straightforward: each participant may submit only one entry, and all submissions must adhere to the age requirements.
A winner will be chosen at random and announced on May 30, where the lucky winner will have the chance to claim their new bike in person.
Valid identification will be required to collect the prize.
