Espanola police have charged two 18-year-olds after they got stopped at a check point and found the passenger was riding with a rifle on his lap. The gun chamber was empty but the clip was fully loaded and the rifle was equipped with a home-made silencer. Police found other items in the vehicle including another rifle plus a spot light which got them thinking the pair was night-hunting. Among the charges both face are night hunting, having a loaded firearm and possession of a prohibited weapon. The teens are from Elliot Lake and Espanola.
