Espanola individuals and businesses replace ropes stolen from the trail system

Several Espanola individuals and businesses have assisted a local club and volunteer organization to replace ropes stolen from a local trail system last week.
Dennis Lendrum, who oversees the maintenance of the Black Creek Sno trail, says two large sections of rope, which were used for those with mobility challenges, were removed last week. A call was put out to have them returned, no questions asked.
He adds Manitoulin OPP was also informed about the theft.
He says various donors came forward, and the ropes will be replaced this Friday at ten a.m. Any volunteers are appreciated.
Lendrum adds they have also continued to receive several monetary donations and any extra will go towards food, drinks, and prizes for their annual Hook & Cook Winter Carnival event at the main entrance (Black Creek parking lot), on February 9th.
Gift cards from Fishy Fishy Bang Bang, Home Hardware. Giant Tiger. Garnets, Canadian Tire and Tim Hortons will be used for necessary supplies and prizes that they can give away.
