Manitoulin OPP says two people are in custody following a shooting incident in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.
Constable Berkley Parisien says yesterday morning around 7:30 a.m., Manitoulin OPP, the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service and Emergency Medical Services responded to a shooting incident around Rabbit Island Road and Tomas Lane, in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.
She says the altercation resulted in one person sustaining serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Parisien says two people have been taken into custody, and there is no threat to public safety.
She adds residents in the vicinity can expect to see an increased presence of OPP personnel in the area while the investigation continues.
