St. George’s Anglican Church of Espanola hosts Interim Primate of Canada – celebrating 100 years of service

St. George’s Anglican Church of Espanola hosted Archbishop, Anne Germand, the Interim Primate of Canada, for their 100th anniversary service and celebration on Sunday, October 6th, 2024.
In her sermon, Germand informed everyone that underneath the original cornerstone, there is a time capsule containing documents, an original donor list, and church deacons.
To mark this 100th year, she hopes everyone puts together a time capsule of their own to remember 2024.
Following the gathering at the church, a luncheon was held at the Legion where Espanola Mayor Doug Gervais and Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha extended congratulatory wishes to the church and its members.
The church opened its doors on October 2nd, 1924, and held its first service on October 12th, 1924.
