Bereavement Peer Support Group in Espanola

If you have lost a loved one, there is now a bereavement peer support group available in Espanola.

VON’s Grief and Bereavement Coordinator Susan Sonnenberg says the agency will be hosting a support group, which will meet for the first time on Tuesday, October 8th from 6 pm to 8:30 pm at the VON office at 439A on Second Avenue.

She says it is a closed group and a safe place to talk about loss and find comfort with others who are also grieving the loss a loved one.

She points out that once individuals register, no one else will be able to be part of that particular closed group, and individuals are asked to commit to the meetings for an eight-week period.

Sonnenberg adds there are also one-on-one meetings available for those who are uncomfortable with a group setting.

This group is open to anyone across the North Shore Corridor who needs supports.

Call to register at 705-869-3304.
