Province implements some recommendations from mall collapse inquiry

The provincial government is moving ahead with some soft recommendations stemming from the Elliot Lake mall inquiry.  Those recommendations include creating an industry panel on how to make existing buildings safer.  Another suggestion is to put the heavy urban search and rescue squad through mock earthquake and building collapse scenarios.  The province says the more complex recommendations from the inquiry need    more study.  Two women died in Elliot Lake when part of the Algo Centre Mall collapsed in June, 2012.
