A Greater Sudbury Police officer has had an assault charge dropped following an appearance in Espanola Court earlier this week.
Constable Melisa Rancourt had one of three charges dropped but is still facing charges of uttering threats and causing a disturbance.
The assault charge was withdrawn by Crown Attorney David Kirk on Monday.
She continues to be on suspension.
Monday was a trial confirmation hearing to ensure attorneys, clients and witnesses are prepared for trial.
Rancourt is scheduled to proceed with trial in Espanola court on September 17th and 18th.
