There’s a meeting this evening in Blind River where residents can learn more about the proposal to bury nuclear waste underground. The Nuclear Waste Management Office will explain the next phase of the proposal, the kind of activity area residents can expect over the next few years and are there opportunities for local businesses. The meeting is at the waste management office on Woodward and begins at 6:30pm. The presentation is sponsored by the Blind River chamber of commerce. Blind River and Elliot Lake are communities on a list to potentially accept nuclear waste for underground disposal.
