Sables-Spanish Rivers Township Mayor Kevin Burke hosted a special gathering of family and friends yesterday to present a Certificate of Bravery to a young citizen.
Twelve-year-old Carter Eshkakogan of Massey saved seven-year-old Keira Weist from drowning on June 20.
Burke says Carter’s bravery will not be forgotten by Keira, her family and friends, commending the young man for his quick actions.
Carter was gracious in his thank you with family members also offering their congratulatory wishes.
