A Greater Sudbury police officer accused of assaulting of a 12-year-old hockey player has a trial date set.
Melisa Rancourt, who was charged with assault, uttering threats and causing a disturbance in February, will appear in Espanola court in July before a trial in September.
The OPP laid the charges after reports of a disturbance at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.
At the time, the OPP shared reports of a coach threatening and assaulted a 12-year-old player from an opposing team, with no injuries being reported.
Rancourt was suspended from her position as an officer with the Greater Sudbury Police following the charges and removed from her position as a coach.
