Area police continue to receive bear complaints and they say the public can minimize this by ensuring their garbage isn’t easy to get at. Some tips to prevent bears from coming into your neighbourhood are put garbage out on collection day and not the night before. Police say bears are looking for food and have a great sense of smell. So with that in mind, when you barbeque, clean off the grill when done cooking. And when putting up bird feeders, put them where bears can’t access them.
