Innu artist Scott-Pien Picard to perform for CSC Nouvelon students

Today some 200 Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon students will attend a performance by Innu artist Scott-Pien Picard at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River.

Taking part in this activity will be grade 7 to 9 students from Sault Ste. Marie, Elliot Lake, Espanola, as well as Grade 9 to 12 students from ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River.

Born in Sept-Îles, Quebec, he is an Innu songwriter who writes in Innu, his mother tongue, putting on his first performances when he was only six years old.

He also composes and writes in his traditional language, producing two albums over the last few years.

He will cap off his Northern Ontario tour at Laurentian University’s Fraser Auditorium tomorrow with over 900 Sudbury students in attendance.
