The Greater Sudbury Police Services Board accepted Chief Paul Pedersen’s retirement notice effective June 22, 2024.
Police Chair Al Sizer says Chief Pedersen began his tenure as Chief of Police on May 4, 2014, and has accepted a position with the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police as their next Executive Director.
He adds Chief Pedersen has made an everlasting impact with his professional dedication to community safety and well-being and wish him well in his new position.
Sizer says the Board will now embark on the process to select the next Chief of Police and will provide details soon.
