Remembrance Day Ceremonies planned for schools and seniors

Although Saturday is officially Remembrance Day, members of the Espanola Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #39 will be hosting three special ceremonies.

Branch President Gary MacPherson says they will be going to two schools and host a special ceremony for seniors on Friday.

He says a contingent will be at Ecole la Renaissance at 10 a.m., and Espanola High School at 1 p.m.

He adds they will also be at the Seniors Complex at 11:15 a.m. adding the public is more than welcome to join them.

MacPherson also asks for everyone to meet at the Legion Cenotaph on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. for the parade and ceremony followed by a chili lunch hosted by the members.

The Massey Legion Branch #432 will also host a separate ceremony on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Webbwood Cenotaph followed by its Saturday laying of the wreaths in Massey at 11 a.m. on Remembrance Day.
