The Big Win – Massey 4H wins provincial competition

A group of youth and their leaders are provincial winners of an agriculturally based trivia competition.

Sauble Spanish 4H Club team coach, Dianne Emiry, says the club represented Northern Ontario at the Go for the Gold competition at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto this past week.

She says there were six teams each representing a different part of the province with the Royal teams having already competed for the honour in their own county, district, and/or 4H region.

She says the kids had to play against the other teams in all things husbandry to win points.

Emiry says the team won the final game 180 to 110 over Huron County bringing home the gold, ribbons, certificates, and the bragging rights.

The event is sponsored by The Royal and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture.

The competition is a trivia competition about all things 4H including tractors, plowing, cooking, crafts, current events, agriculture, and more. The team members are Leah Emiry, Zainab Mohamed, Olivia Gignac, Adelyne Holden-Patenaude, and Evan Fenton. The coaches are Stacey Holden and Dianne Emiry.
