A Southern Ontario man is facing multiple weapons and drug charges following a traffic stop in Blind River.

East Algoma OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says while on patrol, a traffic stop was conducted when officers were alerted by the Automatic Licence Plate Reader that the registered owner was a suspended driver.

She says the driver provided officers with a false name and was arrested, and the vehicle was searched.

She says police located a loaded handgun along with over 400 grams of suspected cocaine and more. The estimated street value is over $46,000.
