Ryleigh’s Ride in Memory of Johnny tomorrow

The Fifth Annual Ryleigh’s Ride in Memory of Johnny will take place this Saturday with all proceeds raised go to Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital.

According to the organizers, hundreds of motorcyclists will ride from Sudbury to Little Current with a break at Tim Horton’s in Espanola.

Lunch in Little Current will be provided by Orr’s Valu-Mart and then ends with a dinner at the Garson Community Centre.

To raise funds for the hospital, riders pay $40 each, plus $20 for a passenger.

They have raised over $21,000 in the last years.

The ride was started after a Sudbury infant, Ryleigh, spent the first three months of her life at SickKids and who will now be a SickKids outpatient until she is 18.

Her father Johnny Valcourt wanted to give back to the hospital, so he came up with the idea for the ride.

Sadly, he passed away following a motorcycle accident in May of 2021, so the ride is now dedicated to both father and daughter.
