Firefighters in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township were busy, not only providing fire services but also with a special barbecue to raise funds for fireworks.
Firefighter association publicist, Jillana Goodchild, says a goal of $10,000 was set for Canada Day Fireworks being held in Massey this year.
She adds they had nearly $8,000 already raised as the barbecue, bake sale and bottle drive got underway yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters were busy on the barbecue throughout the afternoon.
Goodchild adds they also purchase their fireworks locally through The Dreamcatcher located in Capreol.
