More charges have been laid as a result of a collision that claimed the life of an OPP officer. On February 13th at 6:50am a vehicle and transport truck collided on Highway 17 in Blind River, resulted in the death of 36 year old East Algoma OPP Constable David Dennie. The transport truck company was initially charged with one Highway Traffic Act related charge. As a result of the ongoing investigation ABI Trucking of Thunder Bay’s owner was also charged with criminal negligence causing death. The driver and company owner are both scheduled to appear in Blind River Court on July 3rd. The investigation continues.
