Rainbow Board recognizes teachers and years of service

The Rainbow District School Board honoured employees and community partners with the 2023 Awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Co-Curricular Program, Community Partnership Awards, the Go Green Globe Awards, Awards for Excellence, and others in late May.

Individuals with 25 and 35 years of service were also recognized.

An Outstanding Contribution Award was presented to Manitoulin Secondary School math teacher Jon Balfe while Espanola High School’s Jayson Stewart accepted a Go Green Globe Award for the school’s successes in its environmental initiatives.

Natasha Corbiere and Melissa Volpini, teachers at Little Current Public School, also received Awards of Excellence.

Board chair Bob Clement says the awards represent a rich tradition of honouring excellence in Rainbow Schools adding the board is proud to recognize individual and collective contributions to Rainbow Schools in Sudbury, Espanola, and Manitoulin Island.
