Let’s play ball – two major tournaments in the works for the Island

Organizers are in the process of gathering teams for two major baseball tournaments on Manitoulin Island.

Greg Lockeyer says Mindemoya will host the 41st Annual Pearson Cup Adult Blooperball Tournament from June 16th to 18th and the Fourth Annual Mindemoya Co-ed Youth Softball Tournament the week of June 22nd.

He says the Pearson tourney will have 32 mixed teams from across the province compete for the title.

Lockeyer adds there will be 36 teams made up of over 400 youths aged five to 19 taking part in 76 games for the softball tournament.

Both tournaments will take place at the Mindemoya Ball Park and Central Manitoulin Public School.
