An Elliot Lake group is signing on with the City of Elliot Lake to maintain some 30 to 40 kilometres of trails around the city.
The memo of understanding between the city and the Elliot Lake XC Ski & Bike Club details the care and maintenance of intercity trails.
The two already have an agreement, which also includes Retirement Living, to maintain part of the Spine Beach ski trail through the 2022-23 season.
With that success, all three parties have now extended the agreement to May of 2026, which will now also include the trail from Westview Park to Spine Beach.
Trail maintenance is now underway and individuals are invited to join the bike club to help maintain the trails.
