Elliot Lake council agrees to an outdoor patio

Outdoor patios have almost become the norm following the pandemic and Elliot Lake council realizes the importance of allowing businesses to expand their seating during the warm seasons.

Director of Clerks and Planning Services Natalie Bray recommended council approve the bylaw to allow for the leasing agreement at this week’s meeting, allowing for a patio space of 17 feet by 60 feet.

To that end, council has given the go-ahead for Darrin and Joanna Moggy, the couple who operates the Clean Break bar, to lease a portion adjacent to Philip Walk at a cost of $615 plus tax until October 31st.

With the approval, the couple plans to install the patio soon to take advantage of the warmer weather.
