Sagamok-Anishnawbek First Nation has inked a partnership with a Lively-based contractor, Technica Mining and two other First Nations for mining contracting services.
According to the release, Sagamok along with the First Nations of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, and Wahnapitae inked the deal with the Lively-based mining company, which will provide mine contracting services and participation in the economic benefits in their territorial lands within Robinson Huron Treaty Territory.
Angus Toulouse, the Chief of Sagamok says his First Nation has always had stewardship responsibilities to the lands and resources and in more recent times, has experienced more positive relationships in the Sudbury mining sector.
Technica Mining CEO, President Mario Grossi, adds they are humbled to have earned the trust and respect of the three First Nations and look forward to all parties benefiting from their shared resources.
