ADSB secondary schools receive supports for welding education programs

Funding supports from international manufacturing firm Tenaris, which has an office based in Sault Ste. Marie, will see improvements made to welding programs in all of the secondary schools with the Algoma District School Board.

The board’s communication manager Fran Walsh says Tenaris has donated $88,500 through the CWB Welding Foundation as an investment in “Sparking Success” topping off a joint overall investment of $450,000.

She says all nine of ADSB’s secondary schools including Elliot Lake Secondary, Algoma Secondary in Desbarats and W. C. Eaket Secondary in Blind River have received funding to upgrade their welding machinery and equipment, thanks to the investment.
