Espanola High School’s curling teams are heading to NOSSA following wins at the North Shore level of competition.
The Spartan Girls Curling Team (of Sophie Ferridge, Lilly Tilston, Claudia Mullen, Keira Yushko, and Katalin Walker) defeated the team from Manitoulin Secondary to earn a third-place finish.
The Boys Curling Team (of Craig Lepine, Hudson Cassidy, Caydan Cassidy, Denzil Brown, and Owen Leblanc) went undefeated at the NSSSA Curling Championship and brought home the banner.
The boys defeated teams from La Renaissance, Central Algoma, and Manitoulin Secondary by more than eight points in all games to win.
The two teams have won berths to the NOSSA Championship in Thessalon in two weeks’ time.
