East Algoma OPP lays multiple harassment and mischief charges

After a month-long investigation, a Blind River man is facing several harassment and mischief charges.

East Algoma Constable Bev Gauthier says around 10:30 pm on January 3rd, police responded to ongoing neighbour disputes on Birchwood Circle in Blind River.

She says the subsequent investigation determined the complainants were continually being followed, and video recorded with videos being posted on social media including several derogatory comments.
Gauthier adds one of the complainants had their land surveyed because they were having issues with the man removing survey markers on several occasions and on another occasion another complainant observed the man spray painting an inappropriate message on a rock face directed at them.

She says as a result, a 40-year-old man from Blind River is facing four counts of criminal harassment, two counts of mischief and one count of breach.

She adds following a bail hearing, the man has been remanded into police custody.
