Long-time Sagamok administrator joins L.U.’s board of governors

Sagamok-Anishinawbek First Nation’s former long-time administrator has come out of retirement and been appointed to Laurentian University’s Board of Governors for a three-year term.

Jeff Bangs, chair of the board, says the board appointed Tammy Manitowabi last Thursday adding the former director with the First Nation oversaw various aspects of governance for years including community relations, strategic planning, administration, and financial management.

He says she has over 25 years of experience within First Nation and Tribal Council organizations, which will stand her in good stead in her new role as governor.
