A Walford family has received overwhelming support from the local community to help assist them while one of their family members fights cancer.
Glenda Massicotte says her daughter Jenny’s husband Robert has been diagnosed with cancer and to help the family, a dance, silent auction, and various musical talents gathering at the Walford Community Hall to help.
She says the event held on Saturday raised thousands of dollars with more funds coming in.
Massicotte says the Women in Song from Blind River, Jim Graham from Elliot Lake, Dayton Staton Rebels from Elliot Lake, and her band, Railroad Steele, provided the entertainment with the wider community providing the items for the silent auction.
On behalf of the family, she extends a warm thank you for all the support.
