Manitoulin OPP is filling a cruiser … with food

Manitoulin OPP officers will be filling a cruiser with food today.

Inspector Megan Moriarity says officers will at the Mindemoya Foodland for the Stuff-a-Cruiser event throughout the day today in support of Manitoulin Family Resources.

She says they will be collecting non-perishable donations from 10 am to 8 pm at the store located at 11 Yonge Street in Mindemoya.

Moriarity says Christmas can be a difficult time for many families and the OPP’s partnership with Mindemoya Foodland is a great way to assist the food bank.

She sayss the donations will be delivered to Manitoulin Family Resources for their Food Bank and Thrift Store adding the program has contributed emergency food assistance to residents of Manitoulin Island for over 25 years.
