Blind River Festival expanding to include more space

The Blind River Fall Festival is set to go next week and will be expanded to allow for more vendors and activities.

Blind River council agreed to a request to close off a portion of Hawkins Street on October 15th to allow for an overflow of vendors selling their wares and room for the annual Witches Dance.

Kristy Blanchett who oversees the popular dance based on an ancient annual German ritual says the girls have been in rehearsals for weeks and are looking forward to thrilling audiences once again.

She says it is a bonus to be part of the annual fall festival promoting local business and increasing tourism since many people come in from across the districts to watch the rite.

Vendors interested in booking space can contact the town office.
