Boogie Mountain’s Tom Hutchinson receives kudos

A local children’s organization has recognized a long-time Olympic coach for his work with the younger generation.

Espanola’s Our Children Our Future spokesperson Lynne Ethier says Tom Hutchinson of Boogie Mountain has been recognized as a Champion for Children for the outstanding dedication and commitment to Espanola.

Hutchinson says he loves working with kids and is thankful for the recognition.

A high-performance trained coach with Canada Snowboard as well as a former Olympic coach, he and his wife brought his skills to Espanola to share with local area families.

Hutchinson adds he is proud to share the award with his wife Claudia and the executive of Boogie Mountain who backed the initiative in working with the organization.

They constructed an interactive play facility on site for children and organizations to access for free outdoor play.

He acknowledges executive members: Tom Kelly president, Derek Bergeron, Warren Tilston were the VPs, Mike McDonald the treasurer, and Kyle Gagne the secretary and Dan Puddester for his chainsaw skills.
